Bournemouth offers a lot in the way of wet and wild recreational opportunities. Its beautiful holiday beaches host a wide range of water activities such as paragliding, power-boating, jet skiing and much, much more. Since all activities are closely monitored, plus the fact that dogs are not allowed on the beaches during the summer months, your safety while engaging in your favorite pastime is assured. Bournemouth, however, is not just all about fun in the sun. Other sporting activities also have a place here.
Golf
There are two municipal golf courses, as well as 12 other courses within twelve miles of Bournemouth .
Golfers can tee off at the Queen's Park Golf Course , one of the oldest municipal courses in the country. Founded in 1905, it boasts of fairways that meander freely through acres upon acres of lovely heathers and colorful gorse. Set amidst a wonderful pine woodland setting, this 18-hole, former Championship Course s superbly maintained greens would test the skills of even the best of golfers.
